An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is an entry-level patient care provider in the field of emergency medical services. Many paramedics, doctors, nurses, and firefighters have used their EMT education and experience as a stepping-stone to their new career. EMTs have the knowledge and skills to provide emergency care and transportation of patients. They can work in a variety of roles and are often the first on the scene of accidents, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
