East San Gabriel Valley Regional Occupational Program and Technical Center (ESGVROP/TC) is committed to meeting the educational needs of America’s dedicated veterans who have given so selflessly to ensure the freedoms we all enjoy today.
Whether you are a recently separated veteran or one who has been discharged from active duty for some time, ESGVROP/TC can assist you in accomplishing your educational goals. At ESGVROP/TC veterans learn about the various training programs and funding options available. All courses offered at ESGVROP/TC are based on labor market information and are designed to lead to employment upon completion of training.
At East San Gabriel Valley ROP/TC, veterans are individually assisted by the VA Certifying Official-Outreach Specialist. The VA Certifying Official is knowledgeable regarding the various funding, and other resources available to veterans looking to return to school. Veterans are personally assisted to ensure that they are aware of every possible resource for which they may be eligible to apply for.
Our VA Certifying Official is knowledgeable with the many programs designed to help veterans reach their educational goals. Veterans can learn more about:
-Post-9/11 GI Bill-for those who served in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom
-The Montgomery GI Bill
-Services and assistance offered by the Veteran Employment Assistance (VEAP) Program
-Vocational Rehabilitation services offered through the California Department of Rehabilitation and
-Veterans’ Affairs, chapter 31
-Organizations designed to offer resources and assistance to veterans
As veterans near the completion of training, they begin working closely with the Career Center personnel to develop their job-readiness skills. Veterans are introduced to such topics as resume writing techniques, interviewing skills, using social media, dressing for success, and many more. Upon completion of training, veterans are introduced to Veteran-Friendly employers. These employers value the contributions made by veterans and consider veterans first when making the decision to hire.
