Before finding my forever partner, I experienced undesirable and even abusive relationships. It was many failed relationships later, when I met my second divorce that I met Joe, my husband. Our relationship was (and still is) the most loving I've ever experienced. This summer, we recently celebrated our 21st anniversary, surrounded by friends and family.
It wasn't until I learned about my inner self and what I valued that I found my happily ever after. That, and the art of effective communication.
Now that I understand the importance of knowing what I value most, I can prioritize my values and stand for what I want. Before I had a map to follow, I walked around without a vision of what I desired. I hoped others would just know what I needed or expected of them.
