FUNDAMENTALS

This course is self-paced with limited supervision. You must currently work in a dental office since there are skills requirements that need to be overseen by the dentist.

You will be provided with the Fundamentals curriculum upon registration.

Assessment will include a written exam and a skills assessment.  All practice skills must be checked off by the employer prior to the final assessment.  Upon completion of the module, and within six weeks of registration, True North Training and Compliance will provide face to face assessment for completion of the fundamentals course.  This is a pre-requisite to the Dental Assisting EXPANDED FUNCTIONS courses. You will be provided with a certificate of completion upon passing the exam.  Please keep this document as you will need it for proof of completion when registering for Expanded Functions courses.

*Please note: This is not a course for those who have never worked in a dental office. You must have previous experience and be able to complete the module with limited supervision.

COURSE FEES APPROXIMATE COSTS:

Fees are subject to change without notice

• Class fee $425.00 – this includes initial consultation, advising, course curriculum, and face-to-face assessment of knowledge and skills, and a Certificate of Completion.

• Course Challenge $100.00 – this includes skills sheets (for your information), face-to-face assessment knowledge and skills, and a Certificate of Completion.

COURSE DAYS/HOURS: Flexible and dependent upon individual needs. It will be scheduled with True North Training and Compliance.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Completion and documentation of practice skills (by the employer)  included in the Fundamentals Module (does not apply to the “Course Challenge”). Face to Face written examination and demonstration of skills scheduled with True North Training and Compliance.

ATTENDANCE: Students are required to participate in all of the coursework (this does not apply to the “Course Challenge”). Please make the necessary arrangements to avoid conflicts with the course dates/times. If the requirements of the course are not met, it may result in failure of the course and re-registration.
