Fused Glass (kiln formed, warm or kiln glass) is the basic idea that an object, whether it be a piece of jewelry, a dish or a piece of art can be created by melting glass in a kiln. It is a very simple idea that can be used for so almost unlimited techniques.

Here at Indianola Glass Creations, we use almost exclusively COE 96 Fused Glass. Now you are asking...what is COE 96?  A Coefficient of Expansion (COE) is simply a measurement of the rate that glass will expand and contract when it is heated and cooled. To fuse multiple pieces of glass together, it's important to use glass that is compatible. Fusible glass manufacturers test their glass to guarantee the COE (sometimes referred to as "tested-compatible"). To avoid stress-cracks and breakage, it is very important to use glass that has the same COE.  The best part? You can special order most of these items in your choice of glass color!
