Pharmacists Prescribing Vaccines


The New Mexico Pharmacists Association offers a comprehensive training program titled 'Pharmacists Prescribing Vaccines – The New Mexico Program,' exclusively available to current members. This program is designed to equip pharmacists with the necessary skills and knowledge to prescribe vaccines effectively. The training encompasses a 12-hour course, split into 4 hours of home study and 8 hours of classroom instruction. Participants will delve into various aspects of vaccine prescribing, including clinical information, legal requirements, ACIP recommendations, practice management, and record-keeping. The program also covers updates on childhood immunizations and New Mexico-specific prescribing laws. Upon completion, pharmacists will be well-prepared to implement successful immunization practices within their communities.
